GUTTER JUNKY / REVIEWS
"The script by David Kantounas is poignant and original...With a cracking cast and simple but eloquent staging, this is a raw and cutting performance that will bring audiences to the brink".
IDEAS TAP
“This play has its heart entirely in the right place. Anyone with half a conscience who has worked abroad will cringe with guilty recognition.” WHATSONSTAGE
“God alone knows what the title means This fast-moving, hard-hitting play has much to say about the road to hell being paved with good intentions”.
Counter Culture
"Thought-provoking and wonderfully enacted, a profound message, political."
Three Weeks
Kantounas is a writer with plenty to say, and his rattling dialogue is filled with dry humour.
The Scotsman
Kantounas has a lot to say about external intervention in conflicts not properly understood. Harry expects his work to be respected by the people of the country – symbolised by a single girl, played with fitting fire and confusion by Andrea Pelaez – and when this doesn’t happen he becomes frustrated, volatile. The performances are strong, particularly that of James Cunningham as the wiry, worn-down Bill The writing, and its intentions, abounds with potential.
